This is such a weird story.
The social worker should probably have known better, given what she knew of the history. At a minimum, she should have stopped working the case when the relationship started and not made supposedly-independent reports for the family court on the case.
I would expect a social worker to know better. It is weird that she would know a history of their past and decide, “Oh yeah, I want a bit of that”
Unless there is something more to it and the social worker has ended up sucked into manipulation tactics without realising
Social services and local authorities are corrupted, always have been always will be
Thankfully the abuser no longer has access to the kids.
Wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened.
My mother actually had an affair with our social worker whilst he was actively working on our case. She used him to get us removed from foster care, get us placed back into her care, and then once we were back with her she moved us all across the border and into England, whereafter the social worker moved in with us and became some sort of psuedo stepfather.
The relationship didn’t last long once he exhausted his usefulness. This was in the early 2000’s mind but I can’t help but think of the scandal if it had happened today.
Women go crazy for bad boys, it’s well known. Emphasis on “crazy” because, of course, you’d have to be to breed with violent men.
