Meta-funded group floods Facebook with anti-AI regulation ads

Submission statement: How do you think AI laws are going to play out? What laws should exist around AI? How should they be written given how fast AI is changing and will continue to change?

“The American Edge Project, a Meta-funded dark money group dubbed “Facebook’s anti-regulatory attack dog”, has set its sights on a new target: AI regulation.

Many of the ads use alarmist language like “🚨 We need 100 letters TODAY” and “🚨URGENT ALERT”, with one recasting AI regulation as “pro-China legislation”.

A recent poll [found](https://time.com/6996090/ai-china-american-voters-poll/) that both Republican and Democrat voters believe that “taking a careful controlled approach” to AI is more important than “moving forward on AI as fast as possible to be the first country to get extremely powerful AI”.”

Ah the patented Red Scare. Should be develop weapons too and do gain of function research because China might? Maybe more human cloning because China might? The China scare in Silicon Valley (and elsewhere) is just so see through if you apply even a minimal amount of critical thinking
