Ah no. This is the last thing the country needs. Regardless of what the circumstances are of this situation, you know there’s going to be a subsection on X in particular engaging in the same thing they did in the aftermath of the Southport incident.

Let’s see what information comes out. There is nothing to go by currently, at least not from the BBC link above.

This is really sad, hoping they both recover. Knife crime has been an issue in the UK for such a long time and it’s sad to see that it’s extending beyond gang on gang violence to the point where even children are victims.

We should wait for further information before speculating, this could be a domestic, a botched robbery, any number of things.

But I will speculate on whether we have more ‘random’ stabbings than we used to, there may be many reasons why we didn’t hear of them before but I’m fairly sure they just didn’t happen very often in the past.

    5. We can’t even go 1 week without a single atrocity anymore. This country is truly doomed.

    6. It says “In a post on X” but I can’t see anything about it on the Metropolitan Police twitter.

      edit: now in the article

Why are people acting like knife crime isn’t through the roof currently? This is the main problem that Labour need to sort. Not fucking around with Rioters

    8. it’s amazing how people aren’t worried about the girl or the woman but their worry is more about the race and immigrant status of the attacker/attackers.

    9. Hopefully labour will introduce more stop and search in hotspot areas, as this is ridiculous.

To paraphrase the great Philosopher Shrek

“CAN YOU STOP STABBING PEOPLE FOR FIVE MINUTES!?!?!?”

    11. Both the girl and woman’s condition are currently unknown. I hope they both make it out safely.

    12. This is meant as a general comment: When are these cowardly scum going to pick on people that can fight back…

    13. Grim.

As always the most important people here are the victims and hoping that they fully recover.

    14. This is happening so often it’s hard to even keep up… have they even caught the person that stabbed / killed the London bus driver from last week yet?!

Just rename the sub r/murderwatch at this rate or r/ethnicityoftheattacker as that’s all we get now

Details not officially released yet – be very weary of anyone who claims they know what happened until the official story is known.

Needless to say, yet another knife crime incident. There are some serious problems in our country.

    17. Well done, Abdullah! Takes a brave man to take on a man with a knife and a hero to do it for someone else.

    18. The year up to March 2024, there has been 50,510 reordered Knife crime offences across England and Wales

That’s ~139 every single day, it’s getting a bit ridiculous now.

    19. Let’s hope the girl and woman are fine…

Note that the guy who stopped the attacker is called Abdullah so not sure how Twitter/Facebook will spin this one…

My thoughts are with the poor women. Already seeing a large number of tweets from fake accounts just like after the Southport stabbings. I pray we don’t have the last couple of weeks all over again.

    21. Lot of people acting shocked that crime happens in a country of 65 million people and pearl-clutching like the whole place is doomed.

Fucksake people; it was within my lifetime that we had bomb threats for public spaces from the IRA. The country is safer than it has ever been, but, there’s no $$$ in not stoking fear.

    22. People will brag about the race of the aggressor but every fascist on X wouldn’t be as brave as Abdullah

    23. CharringtonCross on

Let’s not ignore some salient facts which are known. The attacker was male, the victims were female.
