Forest degradation, not clear-cutting, is now the leading contributor to carbon release in the Brazilian Amazon, according to high-resolution laser scanning.
Knowing that Bolzy boy has done an unprecedented amount of burn/clear of it through his career to last year makes me think this is fake af, but who knows, maybe it’s just a statistic based logic leap.
Sure, it might be the *new* main reason, but I doubt the amount of carbon is any higher than it was during Bolzys burn/clear period.
Who knew going green would come with such a surprising plot twist
