  1. Full set of Khevsur armor includes mail shirt, vambraces, and mail coif.

Khevsur warrior, when fully armed, usually wielded three blades:

1: Khanjali: Kindjal dagger. Most of these were of Dagestani or Tbilisi production, there’s very few daggers which are specifically attributed to Khevsurs.

2: Dashna (Not Pictured): This was a broken blade broken sword blade which was remounted and usually decorated with the classic Khevsur brass fittings. Often the hilt would be shaped like a Kindjal hilt, sometimes it even had a crossguard.

3: The sword, known as Khmali or Pranguli. This was usually a type A blade Kartli-Kakhetian/Transcaucasian saber which was decorated with the classic Khevsur fittings. This was paired with a locally produced buckler called a Pari made with Iron bands.

    Other weapons:

Satiteni: Fighting rings which were usually worn on the thumb. These came in a number of styles, including spikey and blunted ones.

2: Guns: The khevsurs made use of Caucasian miquelet lock firearms. There were a number of styles known to the Khevsurs, “Khirimi” named so because the barrels were coming from Crimea, “Magari” (Hungarian), etc.

Fighting arts: Wrestling and any type of completely unarmed fighting, which was very popular in the rest of Georgia, was for the most part completely unknown to the Khevsurs: Once an ethnographer went to a Khevsur elder and asked “What would you do if someone was attacking you, and all of your weapons were gone?”. He answered “There are rocks on the ground, pick them up and throw them!”.

The main Khevsurian fighting art was fencing with sword and buckler: It came in three tiers:

1: Parikaoba: Friendly fencing for practice/to show off at events
2: Chra-Chriloba: Fencing used to settle disputes
3: Lashkroba: Fight to the death

In Caucasian culture the thrust is usually considered deadly and not something for friendly fencing or even non life or death disputes, so it was not allowed in these contexts.
