Imagine, Ukraine would have gotten all the weapons it got since 2022 and joined NATO, after Russia unilaterally annexed Crimea. Very likely UA wouldn’t have had to deal with this shitty war and Ukraine would still be intact (as in not bombed, scarred, full of mines – other than that it is more intact than defunct Russia).
Now we all can only hope that Putin’s stupid invasion will be his demise – until then, the aggressors need to suffer every single day!

All this is a lesson to countries: develop your own domestic capabilities where possable, because you can never be sure that your allies will have the exact same motives as you.

Only just Mr Biden. If you gave Ukraine the weapons it needed from the outset, without fear of ‘escalation’ and then without restrictions on what Ukraine can and cannot shot at the war would have been over much sooner with Ukraine victorious. This would have saved thousands of Ukrainian lives, billions of dollars worth of infrastructure and much of the destruction of the natural environment.
