Hi everyone,
Glovo and Carrefour had a promotion stating that any order above 60 GEL would receive a 20 GEL discount plus free delivery on the app. The promo is still active and was advertised on Facebook https://imgur.com/a/IqwF2u0
I placed an order for 60.85 GEL. Initially, they charged me 40.85 GEL. But the they did a chargeback and slapped me with 63.42 GEL instead. I checked and they removed two Frix chips from my order, conveniently reducing my total from 60.85 GEL to 59.13 GEL – just under the promotion threshold. This manipulation deprived me of the 20 GEL discount, and added another 3.49 GEL for delivery.
First of all, it’s absurd to think they didn’t have a 22-gram Frix chip in stock. I’d bet good money that if I went there right now, I’d find plenty available. And what happened to their usual practice of calling to inform about out-of-stock items and asking for replacements? The Carrefour rep should have known to contact me to exchange it for something else. It is hard to not think that they chopped of my chips without informing me, on purpose.
I’ve wasted my time reaching out to Glovo customer support twice, only to be met with unprofessional staff. They had the nerve to use sad face emojis while telling me my situation was "unfortunate" and they’d "consider it in the future." I tried to explain that this is a mistake on their end, because the discount was already applied and I was at their mercy to not take out an item without telling me. I tried to get the human out of them but there was no remorse. It is as if they didn’t want to understand the problem because it would then be very obvious to just refund me the difference.
This isn’t an isolated incident either. I’ve seen comments from others on Facebook facing the exact same situation. It feels like this whole thing is being done on purpose. I would like some guidance on how to properly settle this, whether it is through Carrefour, Glovo, or another avenue. Does anyone know of any consumer protection options in this scenario, or has anyone successfully handled a similar issue? I am Georgian but I wrote this in English so that everyone is aware of my experience. There are many broke students that would actually suffer from such a loss, I personally eat for 2 days with 24 GEL.
Glovo and Carrefour just scammed me

Wolt is much better, I have used their promo codes and even if something from order will be unavailable, your promo bonus will not be deleted, also customer support never disappointed me so far.
