      There is clear evidence of a growing demand for AI-generated images of child sexual abuse on the dark web, according to a new research report published by Anglia Ruskin University’s International Policing and Public Protection Research Institute (IPPPRI).

      Pedo stuff is just one issue amongst thousands of issues such as terrorism, hacking etc. regulators are way behind

      When it comes to abuse content on the dark web, AI images are probably the tamest thing you could choose to focus on

      I’m not sure how they plan on realistically stopping this. It’s like trying to prevent human artists from drawing and sharing underage content, but a million times worse. It seems like police are just going to waste resources that could’ve been used to pursue actual abusers.

      On the one hand, better fake stuff than real kids getting hurt. On the other hand this is a nightmare for people investigating for actual sexual abuse etc.

      Gotta leave it alone peeps. It’s just pixels. Watch list whoever you want all day, but until there is a victim there is no crime

      While I don’t think it is possible or ethical to try and police what people do with their own computers in the privacy of their own homes, there are serious issues with distribution. Imagine trying to find the person responsible for stealing the Mona Lisa and walking into a warehouse full of entirely believable forgeries.
