Hi all,
For context, recent ML algorithms combined with non-invasive brain-computer interfaces can predict what subjects are hearing with nominal accuracy but work nonetheless.
It seems like the tech to turn your thoughts into text is coming. So, if you could have a helmet that was able to translate thought into text with decent accuracy. What would you want to do with it?
Thanks,
Luke

To me..while the idea seems awesome, it appears that in many of the instances you would want to use a thought-to-text device would be just as easily fufilled with a speech-to-text device.
Maybe I’m not thinking out of the box enough, but unless you are trying to dictate on the bus without bothering anyone, you could just use a microphone to do the same thing with great accuracy.
Navigate the OS user interface, write tasks, emails and documents. Comment on forums, create calendar events, write simple commands in the OS Terminal (not all). Search using Google or Chat GPT. Search and play media from my computer or the Internet. Search contacts and textually chat with them. Schedule my personal events, schedule computer administrative events. And so on, and so on.
