Kaua’i residents are getting up to date on their current events in a new way with one of the nation’s first fully artificial intelligence newscasts. And that’s raising some questions on the future of AI and journalism.

    “They’re looking for quick-hitting snippets, like a broadcast, like news and advertising information on platforms such as X, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram.””

    “We’re, to my knowledge, one of the first publishing companies in the United States to actually execute a live news broadcast utilizing avatars solely. And that’s exciting.” Kotarek said the content in the newscast is still coming from the paper’s real reporters.
