  1. BlueLightStruct on

Companies have been trying for a decade and while improvements have been made, we’re still in a bulky glasses stage with small field of view, low battery life, and components that cost thousands to source. It could be a long while before AR becomes practical. I’m thinking it may not be until the 2030s before the tech is ready for something that normal people will be ready for.

  2. I think the efforts so far for this kind of thing are overshooting. Personally, and this is just me, I just want a nice little heads up display in the corner of my vision with the time, date, and maybe the current weather forecast. An icon/icons at the other corner could tell me when a text or email comes in, then integrate some bone conducting audio and a mic and I’m happy. Don’t need an assistant, don’t need a camera, don’t need a full-ass display for watching things.
