Central-Phenix quarterback Gerritt Griggs threw one more touchdown pass than her defense had interceptions and the Red Devils steamrolled their way to a 55-7 victory over Spain Park in Wednesday’s AHSAA Class 6A/7A flag football title game at Birmingham’s Protective Stadium.
“I got an outstanding group of kids, these are our leaders,” Central-Phenix City coach Mitchell Holt said. “Super proud of these kids for not focusing on what we did last year. We told them our eyes were going to be forward, we weren’t going to look back.”
