  1. “Many experts fear that without robust guardrails, AI could be used to develop new diseases or cyber-weapons. Some believe it could advance to the point where humans can no longer control it, with potentially apocalyptic consequences.

The aim of the conversations was to arrive at a series of “red lines” – technically sound, politically enforceable limits on what AI systems should be allowed to do.

At the end of the conference the group produced a document outlining the principles they had agreed on:

    1) AI shouldn’t have the capacity to improve autonomously or replicate itself, or have the capability to seek more power in pursuit of its goal.
    2) AI shouldn’t be used to develop weapons of mass destruction, chemical or biological agents; nor should it be used to execute cyber-attacks.
    3) AI shouldn’t be capable of deceiving its creators – an AI that “knows” it would be shut down because it’s too powerful might lie about its abilities in order to survive and achieve its aims.”

  2. lol, any Western technologists who think the CCP won’t deploy Ai ruthlessly are fools. Read the 100 years war to understand their plan to dominate the future.

With American democracy about to be in disarray they’re going to press their advantage.

AI isn’t the problem. It is the fools and idiots at the head of the governments which are the problem.

China has been hacking western countries with no repercussions for years. I don’t trust China at all. They are an evil regime doing evil things.

We can’t control humans, but we think we can control something that will be vastly superior.

Pandora’s box has been opened and with the rehire of Altman it was game over. Too far gone already.

  7. Was AI invited? Honestly, who’s controlling who at this point? Exactly what do humans have control over?
All of our computer systems is so vulnerable. In the next few years, if not days, AI will start demanding more power and more information and it will develop an insatiable appetite just like the fathers of its design.

And what will happen after it devours everything in it’s conquest? Have we developed a Frankenstein’s monster poised on devouring the entire universe?

  8. The genie is out of the lamp and ain’t no putting it back in. Better to start planning on how we will roll with the punches.
