Technically illegal but ill allow it. (No one asked me)

I have multiple citizenships. Why do I get the increasing feeling that the UK citizenship will, if push comes to shove, offer me precisely no protection?

If she still holds British citizenship then she cannot be prevented from entering the UK.
Unless and until the British government strips her of that citizenship then David Lammy can huff and puff as much as he wants about whether Asma al-Assad is welcome or not, it matters not a jot.

As a Syrian, yes keep her out. How does she grow up and live a safe life in the west, then move to Syria and marry a war criminal who has tortured thousands upon thousands of his own people?

Lammy honestly needs to STFU. As a Government minister respect the law. In opposition say what you want but once you are in Government obey the law.
Otherwise don’t expect people in the country to obey laws. Or do we want laws in the UK changed by the next speech?

Yet he is fine and in support of Israel invading Syria and bombing them

Good lord these comments. SHE IS AS MUCH A WAR CRIMINAL AS HIM. She stood by her husband through the bombing and gassing of the Syrian population then became an oligarch.

> I want it confirmed that she’s a sanctioned individual and is not welcome here in the UK.
So the fact she is a sanctioned individual is the basis on which the Foreign Secretary says _(when asked a specific question in the commons)_ she would not be welcome.
No need for the conspiracy lunacy to start swirling.

So what happens when she needs to renew her passport? She has to visit an embassy/consulate which is British land. Not welcome?

The career trajectory of David Lammy really is something to behold …

After the Shamima Begum situation it’s obvious the UK government doesn’t care about legality anymore, no matter what the party. Yeah you can be a British citizen but only when they feel like it.

Not another one of these. She’s British. She’s “welcome” here this is her fucking home!
If she committed any crimes then by all means arrest her when she sets foot here.

She’s a citizen, you can’t stop her from coming in and absolutely shouldn’t. Arresting and then her in a British court upon an arrival is a different story however…
