• Establishment of permanent special prosecutor for investigating the latest rebellion attempt

  • Impeachment of chief minister of police forces & minister of justice on a charge of sympathizing the rebellion

  • Resolution to arrest the president Yoon, explicitly mentioning him as 'head of the rebellion'

The current situation seems to be in favor of the opposition party (and the Korean people) as 23 of the ruling party voted for the president's immediate arrest.

  1. The way first one works is: **the President** *shall* appoint the special prosecutor from one of the candidates recommended by the National Assembly.

None of this would pan out well for Yoon.

    1. Yoon appoints the special prosecutor as required by law. He would be basically appointing the guy that will be taking him down, considering the candidates are expected to be less compromised vs. the existing agencies under the executive branch. Also, he has already announced that he will not yield presidential powers, walking back of which would go against both the Yoon’s and PPP’s narrative.
    2. Yoon does nothing. Dereliction of duty: one additional stack for impeachment.
    3. One of the Hans tries to do #1. That would be overstepping bounds of constitutional (lack of) authority.
