That’s what happens when there’s been fourteen years of “leach everything we can from the economy”.
The cast majority of animal abuse is carried out by the ruling class. The police and courts are to punish the poors, not the rulers.
I reported my neighbour for kicking her dog in the face and locking it in all day howling and literally nothing was done about it. I also reported her for hitting her kid and telling him she didn’t love him among other things with other tenants providing witness to it and again, nothing done.
9 police cars on the road into town though the other day breathalysing people. There is literally just no point respecting the law anymore lol they’re a statistics machine for some twat behind a desk somewhere to get a nice pat on the back and a career jump one day.
I’ll be honest, considering the other problems in the country with human welfare, I don’t have any energy left to care about this – the animals are removed, so from a pragmatic framework they’ve had their law-violating suffering removed (either by removal from owners to a somewhat better place or by euthanasia). Maybe it’s a slight deterrent to get prosecutions. But I’m being honest when I say I have no energy left to care.
People pretend to give a shit then realise they selfishly like the taste of meat too much to just eat a substitute that still tastes good and is better for the environment. Cool
Sadly it’s endemic. People routinely pay people to harm animals.
