Who’s taking this sort of prediction seriously? They can’t even forecast the next 6 months accurately!

I’d like to believe this, but I’d also like them to explain at what price to the workforce, exactly?

Is this due to Freeports & Charter Cities, where offshore corporations can write whatever labour laws they like? I.e. no sick pay, no maternity leave, no pension contributions, etc? The UK already has a highly competitive cost of labour, way cheaper than either France or Germany (e.g. 28% cost of salary, compared to 51% in France).

A strong economy is clearly desirable, not at any cost.

    3. If there is one thing I’ve learned the past years is that economists can’t even predict economic growth for the next year accurately let alone for the next 15 years.

That’s the way you get UKIP. Initially you do austerity and run down public services blamed along the way immigrants. This way you make working people taxpayers discontent – this in turn rises far right inclination which is happily funded by main adversaries: China and Russia. Text book strategy. That the way kingdom lost North America happily supported by French.

Isn’t the CEBR one of those Tory backed consultancy thinktanks that operates on who pays them?

Private enterprise doing seemingly unpaid task to promote an opinion.

This opinion is as garbage as an election forecast for 2029.

    7. Trust us guys, just another 15 years of this turd moonson and it *might* get downgraded to a fecal shower. Have hope!

Ok for some context, this is because France and Germany are underperforming at the moment, various political crises and their own austerity programs have hit all at once. Britain isn’t expected to grow strongly.

    9. I fear it’s actually the other way around. Brexit has done and will continue to do damage to the UK economy regardless of what the misguided pro brexit proponents would have you believe.

UK moves into recession. “No one saw that coming”

      2 Days later

” In (add random date far in the future) we can safely predict that the UK will outperform Europe (whilst also dropping in the per capita ratings)”

Trust us, we know what we are saying!
