Ambassador Petr Kubernát commenced his mission  in Georgia on August  2023.

He  has extensive work experience in both the state administration and private sectors. During his career to date he has held a number of high ranking positions in the Czech diplomatic service domestically and abroad.  Ambassador Kubernát was one of the key person of the whole process of preparation of his country for accession into the EU.

In the private sector he ran a regarded consulting and training company and worked as an independent lecturer and advisor mainly in the field of European affairs.

Ambassador Kubernát graduated from the Faculty of International Law and International Relations at Kyiv State University, specialising in international economic relations.

He speaks fluent English, French and Russian.
