Musk will help Reform UK win over young voters and beat the Tories, Nigel Farage says

Fortunately, there are no young people in Clacton, and we all know that’s Nige’s number one priority.

Genuine question, does anyone know if there have been any (very recent) studies into who (by demographic, age, race, gender etc..) even likes Musk?

I feel like there is an unfounded assumption that he is still popular with young people.

Elon is going to be so confused when he realises that winning over voters with cult mentality is significantly less effective over here than it is in the US, and people generally do not like Farage here to begin with.

It’s high time the UK placed some sanctions on Musk. Even outright ban him from conducting business here if he doesn’t comply. Especially now that he’s going to be working directly with the US Government in his weird meme department. He’s quite simply a threat to democracy, and it’s better that the UK lose his business altogether, than entertain his BS.

EDIT: People seem confused. I’m not saying Reform cannot win. How is this even legal? He’s basically openly bragging about allowing foreign interference in political matters.

He’s such a stereotypical rich, evil, scheming and maniacal movie villain. Seriously, when is Bond, Superman, Rocky or Austin Powers turning up? This movie isn’t ending the way Hollywood made me believe it should.

As a young person I can say, the more extreme right everything become the more left wing I become 😂 also not sure if “alpha male” people wanna vote for Farage.. he doesn’t really give alpha male vibes.

The news giving Farage and Musk air time is exactly the same scenario. A tiny spot, with a tiny number of MPs being picked at.

Why are we so cool with foreign nationals involving themselves directly with our political system.

There should be a blanket ban on any overseas donations or any entity with foreign ownership making political donations.

What specious nonsense the article is asserting. Musk is a hero to no one but depraved vulgarians living vicariously through a billionaire who perceives them as useful idiots.

Billionaires as a class are unconscionable but billionaires conniving with Nigel Farage are tantamount—to borrow religious imagery—a deal with an avaricious demon.

Labour really needs to appeal to the disillusioned and perceived to be disenfranchised working class male voters. A concerted effort to untangle the lies and misinformation is another aspect Labour needs to begin.

Farage is putting all his eggs in one basket (of deplorables) and hoping they don’t split down the middle whilst watching them actively split down the middle. Musk might not even make it to the inauguration at this rate, do people really believe they can keep it together for 4 years!? When the inevitable happens either Farage isn’t getting anything from Musk or he does but can kiss goodbye to his access to Trump.

I think Elon Musk (and to a certain extent Nigel Farage..) fundamentally misunderstands both British voters and British politics.

We’ve got plenty of British billionaires. Jim Radcliffe. The Duke of Westminster. Richard Branson. J.K. Rowling. And a bunch you’ve never heard of. But they’re generally smart enough to know the wisdom of keeping quiet on political matters. (See what happened to Ms. Rowling when she didn’t…)

It’s not the British way. Call it the Tall Poppy Syndrome. But we Brits have an inherent distrust of people who loudly use their wealth and power to promote their brand of politics.

The media landscape is different in Britain than it is in the USA. Political “attack ads” aren’t really a thing here. Neither are bumper stickers. You would never see a Range Rover with a message saying “My son goes to Eton” on it. No matter how proud the parent might be.

So it’s difficult to see how Elon Musk’s ill-gotten wealth might be used to influence British politics in any significant way. In my opinion, it’s more likely to spark revulsion and distrust amongst British voters. Both Conservative and Labour, Green and Liberal Democrat.

Let’s just remember the government wont have to call an election until after trump leaves office. The world will look rather different after 4 years of Elon & Trump and the inevitable fall outs.

I think Musk is underestimating his appeal to the youth here, not seeing a lot of positive associations with him since he started going off the dickhead deep end a few years ago, or maybe that’s just me.

I seriously wish these fucks would piss off and leave everyone alone.
