I think it’d be unlikely that at a student politics conference you’d have that many people siding with Reform.
The kind of student who is politically active enough to go to a pol conference is generally going to be very progressive and left leaning. I’m not sure why you’d expect otherwise.
Reform will have popularity with many younger voters, they just won’t be the types to go to that conference.

Really broad spectrum there, lol.

Eh? Who thinks the “youth” aren’t progressive?

It’s a Student conference, of course they are more progressive. Working class youth are moving more right wing due to the big class divide happening.

Who could’ve seen that coming. Majority of students are left-leaning. Always have been, with the exception of a haughty few (my uni had a Tory society, which I think got itself into trouble sometimes, oddly for stifling free speech iirc).
I think it’s observed that people who are more educated are generally more left-wing

The more educated you are, the more intelligent you are, … the more stupid and a mere scammer you think Farage is.
Checks out.

Given how the Tories completely collapsed among younger voters, Reform’s failure to make any real headway with the demographic is quite telling.
Well ya, anyone with 2 brain cells and is paying attention know farage is just interested in the grift and won’t help anyone but rich cunts.

I’d farage has any sense he should implement more green policies to capture the youth. But his voter base probably don’t believe in climate change

Farage going after the educated is like keir starmer campaigning in weatherspoons at 10 am.

The Greens will flop after a while just like their copartisans are failing everywhere. They want to be more left to the left, but end up turning into a petit-bourgeois elite cut off from reality.
The nationalist right adresses the concerns of the masses more successfully.

Don’t you love it when Reddit blocks you from replying to a thread. Maybe my views did not fit the agenda.

Farage needs to find the uneducated bunch if he wants a pat on the back from the youths. Join a few NVQ horticulture classes to find your base Nigel

I’m, like, honestly shocked Farage thinks he’s popular with young people. I thought it was a bit but he genuinely doesn’t seem to realise he needs to put effort into being personable and articulating his points. Even basic stuff like smiling seems hard for him.

I was surprised at how many people I know voted green. Obviously none voted reform but I was surprised at how few voted labour. Expected maybe a couple, but it was the vast majority voted green.

Love that most criticism here are basically
“Smart politically engaged youth won’t vote reform.”

Sadly some Tory prick still won here though.
