After reading comments of others, I think Starmer ignoring him is the best way forward. Musk is looking for a reaction and is becoming more erratic until he gets one, which doesn’t look good at all

Starmer will last a lot longer in the UK gov (even if he only is a one term PM) than Musk will in the US gov.

It’s a bit concerning. Elon just tweeted with a poll if the US should invade and liberate the UK from its “tyrannical government….” Seems that Elon has a problem with democracy.
Lots of comments here about his response to Musk but we all seem to be ignoring the fact that most of the extra treatment capacity he’s announcing is to be delivered through the private sector.
Why would he respond to such drivel? I would not expect any serious politician of any party to respond to it.
I think Musk should be sanctioned for his comments and have all his assets in the UK frozen or seized and him to be arrested if he ever comes to the UK.
I’m glad he didn’t respond to it, Musk is a whiny little bitch who would revel in the attention he’d get from a response. Hopefully we can ignore Musk and stop giving credence to every idiotic thought he writes up, it won’t make him go away but at least we won’t be annoyed by him as much.

Musk is actually having the opposite effect to what he wants. He’s just bringing together a government of parties which has for a while been completely divided. Starmer is acting like a PM should and ignoring him, Tories aren’t really engaging, and even Farage has stood his ground and not bowed to Elon’s demands. Before we know it, we’ll have cross-party support to ban this knob-head from having a platform in the UK to spout his nonsense.
Edit: Many bonus points to Starmer for referring to X as Twitter still. I bet that absolutely grates Elon.

It’s good that Musk isn’t getting a public reaction. But I do think it would be prudent to administer consequences bureaucratically.
Musk should be barred from the UK, and his UK assets frozen.
He’s not just some troll. He’s adjacent to the US government, and has just issued a threat. If he’s at all earnest and trying to influence UK politics, this would be an appropriate response. If he’s just trolling, which I think is a foolish thing to believe, this also immediately shows that it will not be tolerated and he cannot escalate like this.
