SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Hollywood is gathering its brightest stars for 2025’s awards season, with movies like “Wicked”, “The Substance” and “Anora” up for contention.
Whether you’re looking for the best (or worst) dressed, sentimental speeches or are invested in the horse race of winning and losing films, the major award shows bring pomp and glam on a near-weekly basis.
This season brings a lot of ceremonies and it can be confusing for the average viewer to distinguish them. Here is a calendar list of the major upcoming award shows.
The Critics Choice Awards

Held by the Critics’ Choice Association, these awards are voted on exclusively by film critics. This year’s show will be held on Sunday, January 26, after being postponed from the original January 12 date due to the ongoing Los Angeles Wildfires.
The Grammy Awards

Los Angeles will once again host “music’s biggest night” at the Crypto Arena on Sunday, February 2, with scores of performances from icons of the music industry past and present.
The show will be broadcast on CBS.
The BAFTA Film Awards

The British Academy of Film & Television (BAFTA) takes the stars out of Los Angeles and over to the Royal Albert Hall in London for their annual awards honoring film.
While the U.K.’s show may seem like an odd addition to this list, it often honors American films and can serve as a bellwether for Oscar chances.
The BAFTA Film awards can be seen on BBC America and Britbox.
The SAG Awards

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards are voted on by actors for actors, with SAG union members casting votes for the best performances in TV and film.
This year’s SAG Awards will be streamed on Netflix on Sunday, February 23, starting at 8:00 p.m.
The Oscars

All roads lead to Oscar: the most prestigious, historic and heralded trophy in Hollywood.
The 97th annual Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will air on ABC and stream live on Hulu on March 2 starting at 7:00 p.m.
