My brother in law grooms the snow at Alpine Meadows in the winter and occasionally I can hitch a ride to the top to capture some photos. Despite the light pollution from South Lake Tahoe, Carson City, and Reno (in particular) the sky around Lake Tahoe is incredibly dark.
