CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The current CEO of Charlotte-based Duke Energy is retiring after the first quarter of 2025, and her replacement has already been named.
CEO Lynn Good will step down from her position, effective April 1, giving way to Harry Sideris, who has been with the company for 29 years and currently serves as its president.
Sideris was chosen to take over for Good following a multiyear selection process.
“In an era of growth and rapidly evolving customer demands, Harry’s experience in operations, customer service, strategy, and stakeholder and regulatory engagement makes him the ideal choice for CEO,” Duke Energy executive Ted Craver said.
Sideris became the president of the company in April 2024 and has been an important leader in Duke’s electric and gas utilities. The company said his past experience includes a variety of customer, operations and regulatory leadership roles.

“I am honored and excited to assume the leadership of Duke Energy at this dynamic time for our company and industry,” Sideris said. “I’d also like to thank Lynn for her leadership and guidance over the years. The valuable position that we’ve attained under her leadership, the opportunities before us, and our employees’ steadfast commitment to our customers and shareholders make our future bright.”
Good has been CEO of the energy giant for the past 11 years.
