Not the most balanced article. In fact, incredibly biased.
Don’t downvote – argue with me, please.
Let’s look at those points one by one.
**1. Resolved long-running industrial disputes**
They threw money at these with zero negotiation. No reforms required, just gave the strikers exactly what they wanted. Hardly a skilful piece of negotiation, and to do this while the economy has a £22bn black hole in its finances was neither prudent nor fair, considering train drivers are in the top 10% of earners.
**2. Improved the incomes of many of the poorest**
The have kept the tax thresholds at the same level, and taken away winter fuel allowance from all but the poorest 15% – and even they have to now fill in a huge form to claim it.
**3. Fast-tracked legislation to improve workers’ rights**
Great on the face of it. Who doesn’t want more rights? However, when coupled with their drive for AI and the rise in employers’ NI, what this will do is drive up unemployment. If it doesn’t, I will eat my hat and that of everyone in the room. Raw. Employment rights are great, but only when you have a job…
**4. Restored NHS funding**
This is a total misrepresentation. There is not a government in recent history under which real-terms spending on the NHS has NOT increased. Find me a graph that says otherwise. Someone. Please.
**5. Launched housing and planning reform…”**
Every government has set ambitious targets… and has failed to meet them. I’m afraid to say this will be no different, because we don’t have the builders to build 1.5 million homes. The CITB estimates that we will require an *additional* 450,000 workers to achieve this… all of whom will need somewhere to live, and many of whom will bring a partner or family. That’s a third of those houses already swallowed up.
**6. Legislated to improve the regulation of the water industry**
I cannot argue with this, well overdue.
**7. Launched a major devolution to local government**
We will see how this goes. Local government can be terrible (see mismanagement by Croydon, Woking, Birmingham) so making mega councils could go either way as the power-hungry local overlords get twitchy thumbs. Don’t count this as a success until it is proven.
** 8. Improved International Relations**
We already had very good relations with Ukraine (cf Boris) and the US. Less so with the EU, but then the EU are rubbing their hands having seen the government’s negotiating ability with the strikers (see point 1)
**9. Launched a Strategic Defence Review**
Clutching at straws here. We had these in 2010, 2015 and 2021. It’s hardly an “achievement” to do something we do every 5 years.
**10. Strengthened Environmental Policies**
There is a reason that Europe is declining in wealth. We are in a gigantic act of self-harm; while the rest of the world is slowly aiming for net zero, we are going fast and hard at the cost of our industry and economy. Never mind, at least in 10 years we will feel smug about our solar panels (made in China), wind turbines (Chinese steel) and electric cars (made in China) while we sit around unemployed because there’s no industry left.
**11. Launched improvements to public transport**
The government has “capped” fares at £3 according to the article. No. They raised the cap by 50%. One gets the feeling that the authors of this article would have used that headline had the Nasty Tories done it.
**12. Strengthened police response to violence against women and girls**
While declining to hold an inquiry into their gang rapes and how councils turned a blind eye to it.
**13. Strengthened border control and increased returns of failed asylum seekers**
And still the boats keep arriving in ever greater numbers….

Asides giving everyone a pay rise and not raising the tax threshold so we pay even more tax and rising the cost of living beyond the raise they also have
1: Had to accept free gifts in the form of expensive clothes and tickets including private schools essentially bribes from rich businessmen which comes into business ethics which the company’s who you work for tell you it’s wrong!
2: 2 resignations one from Tulip Siqqiq the Anti Corruption Minister as it turned out she came from a corrupt political family in Bangladesh! The other Louise Haigh due to misleading the police with false statements which if was a regular citizen they would have been charged by the police.
3: Cuttof of winter payments for our elderly while the money that could be used on this goes abroad and hotels for the illegal immigrants.
4: Tax reforms which they said they would not introduce
5: Arrests of people who tweeted something offensive and putting them in prison while releasing hardened criminals.
6: Hitting landlords hard with extra costs, which will hit the tenet hard.
7: Raising costs for businesses which the business will either pass onto the workforce or the consumers or both.
8: keep badgering on about this black hole.
9: gave a majority vote of No to conduct investigations into Pakistani child molestation gangs
That’s “some” of what they have done in 6 months

They’ve committed to extend funding for the Start for Life programme, which aims to provide support to all families with children under two years of age. Whilst this was a Tory policy, that essentially comes across as ‘Sure Start-lite’, and the likes of Gordon Brown want to see a huge roll out of something similar again, those who work in settings funded by Start for Life money were desperate for commitment to continue the work they gave started (which the government did last month).

If im not mistaken, they have successfully managed to removed more illegal migrants than the torys ever did, who were quite happy with their mates, who run big hotels, to cream taxpayers money.
