Georgian courts have been handing out convictions to protesters like they’re going out of style—hundreds have been fined or jailed based on nothing but police reports, with little to no real evidence. It’s starting to feel less like a courtroom and more like a scripted performance.
One protester decided to embrace the theatrical nature of it all. Wearing a clown nose and humming circus music, he addressed the judge on his way out:
Judge Unjust, why am I beaten—won’t you ask? You vile scoundrel!
If the court was going to act like a circus, he figured it might as well have a soundtrack to match.

Most protesters are convicted under the charge of “resisting police,” even when they show up to court with broken facial bones or are so badly injured that some collapse mid-trial and require hospitalization. Judges don’t seem to care—when protesters recount stories of police brutality and torture, they just respond with “that’s not our concern.”
Out of hundreds of trials, there has been only ONE case (at least, only one is publicly known) where the protester was found not guilty—and that was only because the two police officers testifying against him told completely contradictory stories in court.

We live in society

Haha amazing!!!
The judiciary is legitimately one of most evil branches of Georgian government. A lot of them even got their start perverting justice under Saakashvili and then sold their services out to Bidzina when he came along. They don’t give a shit about morals, ethics, justice or truth as long as the money keeps flowing their way
