Starmer *hits out* by saying he would “not be happy” if somebody in his Government did it, and wouldn’t confirm he was talking specifically about Musk, instead giving an evasive ‘well if the cap fits…’ response.
I’m not sure if the international community is ready for language this strong. Pfffft.

He does nazi shit, like the salute, he supports the AfD, he’s seemingly paying for Tommy “But please call me Robinson as the poors won’t like me with a double-barreled surname and I can’t grift off ’em” Yaxley-Lennon, anti-Woke-but-not-satirically, disingenuous, lying, grifting, obsequious little narcissist.
Anyone defending Musk with “It was a heart gesture” or “He has Autism!” is talking unmitigated, willfully ignorant, racist apologist, bollocks and *they fucking know it*. They’re just sunk into the right-wing fuckery so much they’re scared of going “Oh, shit, fuck, that’s bad-bad isn’t it, seems I was wrong?” and other people saying “Yeah, shit, but at least you realised before you started copying and goose-stepping round Sainsburys’ hunh?”. Their egos, fragile as they are, can’t handle simply being wrong and admitting it. So they lean into it *even more*.
He shouldn’t have to address it. It’s already been addressed to death and already by other European heads of state. Given Elongated Muskrat’s obsession with how the UK under Starmer is allegedly turning into a communist islamic caliphate or whatever, I don’t think Starmer needs to even acknowledge Musk or give him the time of day.
Starmer’s comment here is just to placate the millions of tiktok outrage addicts whining “wHy HaSN’t StArMeR rESpOnDeD tO ELoN’s NaZi SaLuTe????? DoEs ThIs MeAn STaRmEr iS a nAzi?????!!!1!1!111”
Far better for him (and for us getting our taxpayer pounds worth out of him) to address **the actual alarming policy changes coming from the new US administration that affect the UK and the international state of affairs**, than a dodgy hitler hand signal from some jobbie techlord heading up a fake US government department at an inauguration afterparty rally that’s completely irrelevant to the UK.
People here are whingeing that Starmer isn’t saying enough strong words about the nazi salute, but I’d much rather Starmer focused more on the things the Trumpist government is *doing* instead of spending time coming up with clever quips that really do nothing but give Musk the pleasure of attention – and in a few months down the line, you will likely agree with me.

Had to run it through about twenty focus groups first to make sure it was OK to publicly state that Nazis are not good people, and still couldn’t quite get there.
At least when No 10 wasn’t saying anything, it sort of looked like ignoring Musk *was* the strategy, like with an attention-seeking child.

I guess by doing it it has proven to trump, musk and the rest of the world that no one will do fuck all, even if you look like a supporter to a group who nearly destroyed our way of living.

Such a ridiculous headline. He didn’t ’hit out’. He didn’t even say it! His spokesperson was asked about whether Starmer would approve of a member of his government giving a NAZI salute and said , astonishingly /s, that he wouldn’t approve but it was up to Musk to explain his own actions. Shock Horror.
He’s getting far too much coverage imho, it just feeds his ego even more.
Can we just go back a decade or so to a time when Musk was simply “that weird tech guy who says some stupid shit, but we forgive him because he’s helping drive us away from fossil fuels”?
If it were just one thing Musk could be given the benefit of the doubt, but it’s many many things. A white South Afrikaner is not inherently racist or a Nazi, someone who posts frequently agreeing with aspects of Nazi ideology is not immediately racist or a Nazi, someone who openly supports and funds far right nationalist groups such as AfD, Reform, etc, is not necessarily racist or a Nazi, someone who hints at racial superiority and a need for governance to be based on that isn’t necessarily a racist or a Nazi, and someone who does a Nazi Salute, twice, in such a monumental political moment/even isn’t immediately a racist or a Nazi, but when you put everything together…
He’s telling us who he is, he’s been telling us this entire time. Being autistic doesn’t mean you can’t also be these things, and we can’t on one hand revere him for his brilliance in the tech industry, while simultaneously deem him not mentally fit to have a political ideology.
