FYI: The distance covered by the plasma within the video frame in 1 hour was about 306,000 kilometres or 24 Earths in a straight line, not the total size of the plasma, and it was moving at 82km/s or 296,129km/h .
The eruption was near the E limb, the CME will miss the Earth. Had it occurred a few days later, it likely would have affected us. [https://x.com/JAtanackov/status/1883378821694669261](https://x.com/JAtanackov/status/1883378821694669261) .

Unfortunately, this CME is not headed towards Earth, if this had occured a few days later, we may have been in for a nice hit! [https://x.com/Vincent_Ledvina/status/1883363947853807706](https://x.com/Vincent_Ledvina/status/1883363947853807706)

How far do coronal mass ejections typically travel in space? Do they go on forever until they hit something? Or do they slowly phase out as it cools loses energy?

This happened today? Cause I didn’t notice anything unusual…

Gorgeous! Thank you for the tiny Earth for scale. Really ups the AWE factor.

Crazy how itโs just up there doing that.
What a universe.
