Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says that in ten years, “Everything that moves will be robotic someday, and it will be soon. And every car is going to be robotic. Humanoid robots, the technology necessary to make it possible, is just around the corner.”

  1. *Submission statement:* In a recent interview, Huang was asked about the last ten years has been focused on the science of AI, but the next ten years will focus on the application of AI. “The applied research, the application side of AI, now becomes: How can I apply AI to digital biology? How can I apply AI to climate technology? How can I apply AI to agriculture, to a fishery, to robotics, to transportation, optimizing logistics?,” Huang said.

  2. I find this horribly depressing. I really don’t want to lose the “human element” in daily life.

  3. I’m just wondering whether I’ll die via AI drones or AI robots. Or AI robotic drones

  4. Scary to think what the economy and job markets will be when practically everything will be automated.

Train-A-Gerbil Inc CEO Gerbilson McGerbil says everything that moves will be steered by a trained gerbil someday, and it will be soon. Every car will be steered by a trained gerbil. Gerbils in human-shaped mech suits, the gerbil training techniques necessary to make that possible, are just around the corner.

  6. In a more forward looking society that didn’t vote reprehensible crooks into power, this would be great. In our timeline, yeah those robots will take our jobs, then our lives.

  7. They’ve said this about every next decade for decades. I’m sure it’s coming but there’s 0 chance every car is “robotic” in 10 years.

Add in a few pandemic events to thin the population world wide.

Keep a few real humans for sex slaves. These will be a premium.

Let robots grow food and Repair each other as well as be sex bots.

There you have the real plan for the elite.

  9. I guess this really depends on what the definition of a robot is. Is a car not already a robot? What would turn a car today into a robotic car of the future? What element is missing?

  10. I like to facetiously point to the humans in Wall-E and say “don’t threaten me with a good time “

  11. Yea, bullshit. Until you have Rosie from The Jetsons, I really do not want to hear it.

He’s wearing a jacket made of ancient lizards. You can’t trust this guy.

    CEO saying CEO things

Nvidia CEO would say that everything will need the product his company makes

Why don’t any of them ever talk about what life will be like for us humans? All of us who’s jobs are being disintegrated in real time. All of us who can’t afford houses but are being told about robots that will be brought to market for us to buy.

  14. Woke up this morning to 5080 benchmarks, and man is that a disappointing gpu. I hope Nvidia’s robotics development are ahead of their gaming gpus. Otherwise that “robotic future” is farther away than Huang thinks it is.

  15. “will be robotic someday, and it will be soon.will be robotic someday, and it will be soon.”

and it will always be “soon”

  16. Wool CEO says: “Some day, everything you see will be wool. We will have vast sheep farms on the moon, making wool for our planet and beyond. You will drive a wool-powered car to work at your job managing the wool rockets. you will eat off of wool plates with a wool knife and fork. it’s just around the corner.”

I WISH we would stop quoting tech CEOs on this stuff. Guys. Their job is to sell you on this stuff. It’s like asking the car salesman if your life would be improved by buying a car. OF COURSE the guy selling us powerful chips wants us to believe that it’s inevitable that we will need a lot more powerful chips in the future.

hahaha i can’t wait for this not to be true. remember in 2016 they said women would be having more sex with robots than men in 2025?

  19. And every single robot will only be available with a subscription. Do y’all realize we will have to pay it to do chores & the harder the chore the more these evil assholes will charge?

  20. Important-Ability-56 on

What’s missing from all this tech CEO hype is the barest understanding of the human element, not to mention a history of the philosophy of technology that covers this.

We’ll adopt new technologies in idiosyncratic and unpredictable ways when it serves to actually make our lives easier rather than more annoying, and sometimes not even then if we simply prefer the old way. I’m as addicted to my phone as anyone, but I haven’t touched my Roomba in years. Has anyone seen a Segway or 3D TV lately?

It’s all well and good for tech companies to try to sell innovations in the marketplace, but they should leave the theorizing about social change to liberal arts graduates.

  21. More platitudes from Mr. Charlatang, typical. The more you buy, the more they can sell expensive crap. lol

  22. <PR bullshit><PR bullshit><PR bullshit>
Sorry, bro, I don’t care what CEOs or politicians have to say, because they only spit PR bullshit.
I’ll listen to what scientists in the field have to say if somebody will bother to publish their opinions.

  23. This_They_Those_Them on

The tech does not exist. They make money off hype. We are in an AI bubble and they are desperate to keep the party going. That is all.

  24. Reminds of the following:

“In two years, we’ll be able to summon your car from across the country.” Elon Musk, 2015

“I remain confident that we will have the basic functionality for Level 5 autonomy complete this year.” Elon Musk, 2020

“I remain confident that we will achieve full self-driving this year.” Elon Musk, 2021

Im packing my shit, buying a plot of land in the countryside and fucking right off. I work remotely so I’ll squeeze the system for what it can offer me until it can’t no more and I’m hoping by then I’ll be self sufficient enough, or old enough, so that either I can get by or not give a shite no more.

  26. Darmok_und_Salat on

Who’s going to buy all the stuff when every job is done by computers and robots?

Can we solve the problem no one talks about _without_ WW3?

  27. Robots and AI need to pay income tax unless they just want to delete all of the workers they will no longer need.

  28. Nervous-Artist504 on

“Just 10 years bro!” If you believe this, I have a Tesla Roadster to sell you.

  29. Man who sells GPUs tells everyone GPUs will be integral to every aspect of human life soon.
