The UW-La Crosse men’s basketball team is hitting the back end of the conference season in stride.

La Crosse, Wis. (WXOW) The UW-La Crosse men’s basketball team is hitting the back end of the conference season in stride.

They kicked it off with a 37-point win over UW-Stout Wednesday night.

It was their biggest margin of victory this season and now comes a re-match with Platteville next Wednesday, the team they’re tied with a-top the WIAC.

It’ll be another match-up between top ten ranked teams in the nation.

The Sagles lost to Platteville a few weeks ago by eight.

But they’ve won six in a row since and are playing some of their best basketball of the season at the moment.

“I think just the biggest thing is going to be “together.”  We play Platteville next game.  It’s going to be a good game.  It’s going to be intense, and I just think staying together.  We have bigger goals as well.  I think just taking it day by day and preparing for what we can prepare for will get us everything we want,” said senior guard Karter Thomas.

UWL is ranked 10th in the nation while Platteville is 4th.
