Yes, ban it. Ban it so that it can never be done.

But if companies persist or find a loophole?

Easy fix. Just have society agree to destroy any company products advertising in space. If Coke makes the mistake of advertising in space then have a nice tea party of destroying coke products and fill city streets with it after you DID NOT pay for it. . If Tesla advertises in space… I think the answer is obvious. Target ANY company that does this immediately and all over the world. A company overnight losing a billion dollars worth of stock to damage would see that space is off limits to advertising.

We dont get to decide unfortunately. Like 12 whole people on earth get to decide for the rest of us regardless of our opinion

    3. You won’t get enough countries on board for that. China does not care about international laws and regulations.

    4. It most certainly will happen eventually.

If we look at current events, SpaceX is already working with observatories and astronomers in order to calm bad press about Starlink view pollution. A satellite constellation with the express goal to block the heavens and advertise a product would get all kinds of traction and eventually legal blocking.

This reminds me of an episode of Carmen Sandiego cartoon where she decides to put her logo covering the whole near side of the moon.
