    Casa Gomis, the iconic modernist space completed in 1963 following a design by Antoni Bonet Castellana, has been acquired into the inventory of the of the Spanish Ministry of Culture for $7.5 million.

    Artnet is reporting on its newfound status, which “provides a much-needed lifeline” against the encroaching expansion of Barcelona Airport. Plans are for it to be converted into a cultural and environmental center. In a press release, Natascha Drabbe, the founder of the Iconic Houses Network, said the move would “inspire governments and heritage organizations around the world to take similar bold and meaningful action.”
