Minister FidFidanan confirmed that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet in the Turkish capital, where the High-Level Cooperation Council session will be held. Fidan further shared that he met Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis in Doha last week to discuss preparations for the meeting and review the steps moving forward.
Emphasizing both nations’ commitment to resolving issues through dialogue, Fidan stated, “Both Turkey and Greece are determined to engage in genuine efforts and negotiations to address challenges. Our foreign ministries have been tasked with leading these efforts.”
Fidan also noted that both heads of state receive regular updates and provide guidance, acknowledging the sensitivity of Greece’s internal political landscape. He remarked, “As I mentioned, Greece’s internal political system is more delicate than ours.”
