FINCASTLE, Va. (WDBJ) – With cast members ranging in ages from six to 17, the newest show coming to Attic Productions in Fincastle is all about the kids.

The classic fantasy “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” is a story known to generations, part of the The Chronicles of Narnia series.

“We really do a have a deep passion for this series, specifically for this story,” says assistant director Preston Pauley.

“I grew up listening to the Focus on the Family radio theatre drama version of the stories. And we listened to those in the car whenever we went on road trips, so I’ve grown up with these stories, and it’s really amazing to see them come to life on the stage,” says actress Abby Bjorklund.

17-year-old Bjorklund will help bring the story to life, playing Jadis, the White Witch.

“Narnia used to be this beautiful land that was ruled by a good king and queen. But Jadis the white witch took over and turned everything into winter. So, there is no spring, there’s no green, everything is covered in snow and there’s no Christmas. This is a very fun character to play. It’s a very complex character, because I have to show a lot of different emotion with seconds of each other,” says Bjorklund.

The audience will get to enjoy young talent, not only on stage, but also in the assistant director’s chair.

“Yes, it’s definitely been a learning experience, and it’s been my first time ever directing. It’s been very interesting, but I’m so thankful to be a part of it, and I’m so excited for audiences to get to see this show, says Pauley.

“The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” will play at Attic Productions in Fincastle from February 7th through the 9th, and again from February 14th through the 16th.
