    1. As an influential voice, he could have done a lot more to support Remain in 2016. But he probably thought it wasn’t in his commercial interests at the time.

    2. I was about to summon leopards and face-eating, but I’ll darned – Clarkson was a Remainer.

    3. People might be surprised but he hasn’t changed his mind either, back before the referendum he said he was supporting remain

To be fair anyone that wants to bring up Brexit in real life is not there to make friends. The way they voted isn’t really the factor.

    5. Well I have to admit that I had assumed he would have been pro brexit, so was somewhat surprised to discover he has always been against it….

    6. I doubt the government would have included farms in inheritance tax if it weren’t for the low growth post brexit.

So its directly come to bite him on the arse.

    7. The fact that Jeremy Clarkson is assuming anyone wants to be his friend is outrageous in itself.

I disagree with Clarkson on almost everything he stands for, but I still like him.

He’s as dumb as a sack of bricks and arrogant to boot. But he’s ideologically consistent and there’s no malice in him.

I agree with him on Brexit.

I am friends with some people who voted Brexit, they don’t like to talk about it much these days.

I voted for Brexit and the reason why I voted that way was because I was sick of foreign labour being taken advantage of.

I was working on a job earning £20 an hour and my Lithuanian colleague was doing the exact same job and was on £6 an hour.

It disgusted me that companies could take advantage like this and get rich off the backs of foreign labour

    11. Yeah, the rich always did very well out of Britain being in the EU, in sharp contrast to the majority of the working class. Him being pro-remain is hardly surprising, but the babyish ‘we can’t be friends if we disagree on a political issue’ attitude is really quite unbecoming of an old man.

    12. Many of those have since changed their minds… The hopeless back Farage because being screwed over once by him and his moneyed pals wasn’t enough apparently.

    13. Still annoys me that ‘take back control’ wasn’t reframed as ‘take back control’ of our assets and utilities we sold off to foreign billionaires. All of a sudden, the whole country was interested in ‘sovereignty’, there’s something actually profoundly sad how you’ve got millions of people at the bottom who have the littlest power of anyone clamouring for something completely vague when billionaires shape everything.

    14. Amazed people thought he was a Brexiteer.

[He was pretty clear about remaining, even being part of a video published online with James May about it](https://www.theguardian.com/politics/video/2016/jun/20/jeremy-clarkson-james-may-eu-remain-campaign-video), which the Daily Heil hated.

It goes to show how little people paid attention to the discussions.

Joanna Lumley was pro-Leave, yet people thought she would be pro-Remain.

A lot of “elderly” celebrities came out in support towards the end to spur support, reminding people what hell happened in their lifetimes with a divided Europe.

    15. Is Brexit a disaster? It isn’t for me personally. I’m an ordinary, working class bloke on an average salary, and my life isn’t being affected by Brexit.

Jeremy Clarkson on the other hand, with a net worth of 70 million, doesn’t like Brexit. Why exactly, am I supposed to feel sorry for rich cunts? Oh BOO HOO you can’t jet off to your yacht in Spain at the drop of a hat. Spare me.

    16. Head-Country-1640 on

How could you find them now ? Most of them are lying after Brexit failure. It’s like nobody supported it.

    17. TheUniqueDrone on

How the hell does he manage to be a figurehead for farmers during this whole inheritance tax dispute? They mostly voted Leave.

    18. EU doesn’t want England back, I doubt Scotland and Ireland feel good about being part of the United Kingdom; being dragged down with them. EU doesn’t want them back, no one wants to trade with them, the most racist country in the world. Delusional governments that claim England is the greatest country in the world; I guess they haven’t been to places like Finland, Denmark and Japan. You got pub soccer hooligans who will gladly swing a teddy bear punch for their favorite team and vote for a clown like Boris Johnson because as I’ve heard his voters say “he’s a laugh”. Their defence is “look at stupid Americans they’re way worse”… Yeah not from where I’m standing. If the world could rid themselves of religion and greed, 90% of problems would go away overnight

    19. Educational_Wealth87 on

This is the most surprising news I’ve heard in my life.

I really though he would be a Brexiter for some reason

    20. My whole family voted Brexit while I lived in the Netherlands. I have a girlfriend from the EU.

I’m very close to them though still (physically too now I’m stuck in the UK 😂)

    21. To be fair, if you voted for Brexit and you can even admit it was a mistake… screw you. Whatever you have to say is not worth being heard.
