Join the fun as H3O Jazz Trio and Winona Symphony Orchestra (WSO) partner in support of the symphony’s annual Children’s Concert. This month’s Jazz Jam takes place in Two Fathom Brewing Company’s brand-new taproom on Sunday, February 16, from 2:30-5:30 p.m., and benefits WSO and the upcoming children’s shows.
Bringing to life the classic story of “Peter and the Wolf,” the Winona Symphony Orchestra is excited to offer area students an engaging performance that demonstrates music’s power of storytelling. Experienced by over 1,000 students, their increasingly popular Children’s Concert is a wonderful opportunity for area school children to discover the excellence of classical music through meaningful engagement and fun performances.
The symphony’s Children’s Concerts are offered free through generous donations and support. The concerts – on Tuesday, February 18, at 9 and 10:30 a.m. in the Winona Middle School Auditorium – are recommended for students in second through fifth grades. H3O Jazz Trio and Two Fathoms Brewing (formerly Island City) have helped support local nonprofits with over $58,000 in total donations thanks to the generosity of Jazz Jam patrons. Last month’s Jazz Jam contributed $1,550 to The Pantry at Minnesota State College Southeast. In addition to H3O matching all donations, Two Fathoms Brewing contributes 20% of their Jazz Jam Sunday profits.
