Live! Casino and Hotel grand opening in Bossier City La. | Food & Entertainment

Live! Casino & Hotel officially opened to the public at 8 p.m. Thursday, following a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and a fireworks display. Several northwest Louisiana Mardi Gras Krewes led a second line parade followed by music from the Northwestern State University band.

Hundreds of people anxiously waited next to the guardrails for 8 o’clock to arrive. 

Owned by The Cordish Companies, Live! Casino is Louisiana’s new $270+ million world class gaming and entertainment destination, featuring Shreveport-Bossier’s first landside casino.

Before the opening, invited guests were able to witness the first sports bet at the DraftKings Sportsbook and the first dice roll with pro football Hall of Famer and Super Bowl Champion Ed Reed. He bet on the New Orleans Pelicans against the Sacramento Kings in the basketball game scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

“February 13th will be an unforgettable night as we open our doors for the first time to present the most spectacular gaming and entertainment facility the four-state region has ever experienced,” said Executive Vice President and General Manager of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana John J. Chaszar in a news release announcing the opening.

The Shreveport-Bossier Advocate asked Bossier City Mayor Tommy Chandler about Live! Casino opening. “You walk in and think, ‘Am I in Vegas?’ It does look like we’re in Vegas,” he said. “It’s going to bring so many people here to Bossier City. 

“We’re ready for it. The number one thing I have in Bossier is safety, and fire and police is one of my things and we try to keep the city as clean as we can. And there’s a lot more extra things that we’re going to bring into Bossier to complement Live! Casino”. 

Gaming

The Live! Louisiana property features more than 47,000 square feet of gaming space, including over 1,000 slots and electronic table games, over 40 live action table games, and a DraftKings Sportsbook, where you can bet on any game or event that is legal in Louisiana. 

One of the highlights is a flying dragon over the Asian games section of the casino floor.

Lodging and Parking

Live! has a 549-room luxury hotel, resort pool, and fitness center as well as a 31-site RV park with concrete pads and full hookups, and structured and surface parking.

The Live! Event Center is a 25,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, multipurpose space for top name entertainment, meetings, conventions, and events.

Live entertainment scheduled for February and March includes Grammy-nominated artist Walker Hayes, The Commodores, comedian Matt Mathews, and Clint Black.

Restaurants and Bars

Live! has 30,000 square feet of best-in-class dining and entertainment venues. 

Sports & Social® is a bar and restaurant that offers guests an immersive sports entertainment atmosphere where guests can watch multiple games and sporting events at once, plus arcade games, as well as live music and special events during the week. 

The PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Cowboy Bar brings an authentic country western experience with high-energy music, expansive bars, private VIP tables, and a mechanical bull. 

Luk Fu® (pronounced “Luck Foo”) is an Asian themed restaurant featuring the traditional flavors of Southeast Asia with chefs from Vietnam, Japan, Korea, and China.  

The Prime Rib® is an award-winning fine dining experience with a menu that includes the restaurant’s signature prime rib, prime cuts of filet mignon, rib-eye, porterhouse and NY strip, as well as veal chops, and lamb, jumbo lump crabcakes, Chilean sea bass, ahi tuna, salmon and other seafood specialties. The Prime Rib® was ranked in the Top 10 for Best Casino Restaurant by USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards in both 2022 and 2023. 

Ridotto Grand Café is next to the hotel lobby and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily which serves Italian specialties with a Venetian flair.
