No. 2 Tennessee (2-0) won its first series of the 2025 baseball season on Saturday. The Vols defeated Hofstra, 18-1, in seven innings at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Saturday marked the second consecutive run-rule decision for the Vols against Hofstra in the three-game series.

Tennessee won the series opener on Friday, 15-0, in seven innings. Sunday’s series finale between the Vols and Pride is slated for 11 a.m. EST and can be watched on SEC Network+.

Marcus Phillips started for Tennessee in game No. 2. He pitched 4.0 innings and recorded four strikeouts. Phillips totaled 55 pitches, including 31 strikes, against 16 batters.

Austin Hunley (1-0) earned a win for the Vols in relief. He pitched 0.2 innings and recorded one strikeout against two batters.

Tennessee’s offense totaled 11 hits, including home runs from Blake Grimmer, Hunter Ensley and Levi Clark. Ensley led the Vols in RBIs with four.
