    1. The most likely cause is that it was overinflated. Can easily happen if you’re inflating the tube and not paying attention to the pressure gauge, or perhaps the gauge was faulty.

I barely like inflating car tyres. I’d have to put it in a cage in another room to even think about doing it for a tractor.

Thats exactly why I face the other way. I don’t want any tyre blowing up in my face.

    4. Wheel of a tractor towing a silage trailer on the road exploded outside my house. Windows of cars 10ft away shattered it was unreal

🎶 And life has a funny way, of helping you out,

Truck tyres and anything that big is dangerous. There is a lot of energy stored in there because of the high pressure and large volume.

Compare this with a road bicycle tyre which maybe at a high PSI, but the volume is a lot smaller.

      Incredibly sad 😔

I work in the tyre industry, at our yard we put all tyres being inflated into metal cages that are secured to the floor. Out on the road it isn’t so easy, bolting it to the vehicle can prevent the wheel from flying off but the pressure/rubber/metal from the tyre will do severe damage if your close.

    8. There’s an old video floating about online of a man attempting to slash a truck’s tyres, it literally blows his shirt off and destroys his arm.

I can only imagine the damage an exploding tractor tyre could do.

    9. I saw someone die because of this very thing. All that compressed air is not to be taken lightly.

    10. I didn’t need to go back onto reddit  and yet I did and now sadness before I sleep.

Her smile, she’s happy and I’m forced to see her happiness knowing she’s going to be upset when she realised her dad is gone.

      Empathy is a curse.
