Greece will be acquiring its first micro satellites in 2025 said the Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou on Saturday, whilst attending the Innovent Forum.

Greece has developed a very important strategy with micro satellites that will be launched in the last quarter of 2025 with the aim of having accurate information on a range of solutions,” Papastergiou said, referring to a crucial upgrading of the country’s digital policy.

He noted that with the new program there will be the possibility “to have as a country much better and more narrowly focused information on natural disasters, on agricultural crops, on water quality, on land use planning, on urban planning and a lot more.”

Papastergiou referred to the digitalization of state services and the enduring problems of red tape, describing the changes that are taking place in this area. He also referred to the example of the national cadaster and its digitization.
