On Feb. 28 and March 1, John DuVall is directing and producing a staged reading of “A Picasso” at the Lake Gaston Lions Club. Written by Jeffrey Hatcher and starring Mark Nielsen and Wendy Grimm, this short play explores the connection we have to art, and each other. Touching, biting, funny, and just the right amount of drama, we witness Picasso fighting for his art in Nazi occupied France, opposite a beautiful “cultural attache” from Berlin.
At the beginning of the evening John DuVall, director and art historian, will engage the audience in an interactive discussion about Picasso’s life and body of work. There is adult language used in the play. 18+ please.
The Lion’s Club will offer beer, wine, and soft drinks prior to the show.
