    1. I’m sure the old boy provoked him, there’s no way cuddly little throat shredder did it for no reason

I bet the go to taglines had been used at some point to describe these savages: “family pet”, “wouldn’t harm a fly”

    3. I’m sure ThroatKiller420 was a lovely caring dog and wouldn’t hurt a fly. He’s never acted out and lets the kids ride on his baby. RIP Throatkiller420 /s

Nanny dogs at it again. Whoever thought it was a good idea to take a bloodsports dog and make it bigger and stronger deserves a special place in hell

    5. Holy hell, 19 rounds?

Per the laws the police work to they have to justify EVERY bullet. An officer could be charged with misconduct if it were appropriate to fire 1 round, but not 2.

As such, 19?! These dogs must have been in a pure frenzy to be shrugging off bullets.

      Dear god.

    6. For context, the firearms officers were likely using their Glock17 handguns for the animal dispatch. They use 9mm hollowpoint bullets (not full metal jacket), which are designed to expand and mushroom on impact to reduce the risk of over-penetration. They are intended to penetrate soft tissue, not bone.

Given the size and thickness of an XL bully’s skull, it’s entirely possible that the standard issue hollowpoint rounds were ineffective at penetrating the bone, hence why so many shots were required. Even if they then aimed at the heart, the rib cage and sheer muscle on these dogs could have caused further penetration issues.

The alternative would have be the G36C carbine, which uses 5.56mm rounds. That said, it was likely discounted if engaging the dogs from close proximity, back drop, being in a residential area, etc.

    7. If my dog were to get out I’d panic about her running into traffic, but otherwise anybody walking by would have to worry about an overly friendly hello at worst.

This woman’s dog got out and nearly killed someone.

I just don’t understand why this isn’t enforced more harshly. Lock her up for GBH with a deadly weapon or something.

    8. “It’S nUrTuRe NoT nAtUrE”

So why is it always the biggest scrotes who have them then? And I wonder why they have them.

    9. I’ve yet to see an owner of one of these dogs who isn’t a scrote. I love dogs to bits, but fuck me I would so happily see every last one of these unholy beasts wiped off the face of the planet, along with their owners being made the subject of a dog banning order for the rest of their lives.

    10. The fact armed officers can’t easily take down one of these beasts is terrifying.

These things are dangerous and need to be rounded up and destroyed.

They’re bred to be aggressive, you can’t train that out of them. They’re a threat to the public and need to be dealt with urgently.

How someone walking down the street could protect themselves their child or their dog from one of these dogs eludes me.

    11. My brother has an XL bully. She’s an absolutely beautiful dog, very playful and loving and has never once acted out. However, she’s ridiculously strong and his partner (who was the reason they got the dog) can’t even walk it without being dragged. My brother can hardly hold her either and I managed when I use to walk her (pre ban) but it was Definitely a struggle if she wanted to run somewhere and you’re holding her back.

They’ve never trained her, they don’t take her on walks, she’s not muzzle trained and she doesn’t listen to calls. She’s a beautiful dog, full of energy and loving, but nobody should have one. While she’s never acted out, even when she was attacked by other dogs when I was walking her once. I’d be absolutely terrified if she did.

As much as I want to say it’s entirely down to the owners, the reality is some breeds are just too much and shouldn’t be allowed. I love that dog, but as a breed they’re too dangerous and unfortunately it only seems to attract the absolute worst owners.

I couldn’t imagine seeing her put down, she’s never done anything wrong. But she also has no life and just stays trapped in my brother’s house and garden now since all the Bans came in. It’s sad.

    12. I feel so bad for these individual dogs. They’ve been bred and created to be vicious, and then put out in the public by negligent “owners”, so when they eventually do what’s in their nature, they have to suffer. It’s as cruel as letting a tiger loose and it has to be shot.

    13. Friendly_Fall_ on

I wonder if the number of shots is any sort of record even between 2 dogs. Pit types do often tank a mag dump in the US, they’re ridiculous.

    14. I am still to this day yet to meet someone who has a good response when I ask:

“If we shouldn’t ban these powerful breeds, what else will prevent injuries and deaths before they happen?”

It’s all well and good shouting about if they’re raised properly, but in all the time my parents have owned cocker spaniels I have never heard of a similar attack resulting in serious injury or death, so why does it happen so often with XL bullies if they’re “harmless”?

    15. I wonder what excuse will be coming out by the army of crack addicts to defend the breed this time?
” Actually it was only 94% XL bully” , ” poor thing was probably frightened of the old man” , ” MinE wOUldnT hURt a FlY” ….
