    1. **SUMMARISED:**

*An 80-year old man was punched and kicked to death by a boy wearing a balaclava while a girl filmed the attack and laughed.*

*Bhim Kohli, who was originally from India, had been walking his dog near his home in Braunstone Town when a boy (aged 14) and a girl (aged 12) targeted him with racist abuse.*

*The court was told that the girl spotted Kohli with his dog and told their group that he had tried to hit one of the boy’s friends with a stick.*

*The jury was told the boy put on a mask to carry out the violent act, which left the pensioner with fractured ribs and spinal cord damage. He died in hospital the next day.*

*Video played at Leicester Crown Court showed the man slumped on his knees in a park as he was hit across the face with a shoe. Another video showed him lying injured under a tree after suffering blows to his chest and neck.*

*Immediately after the attack, the two concocted a lie that Kohli had pulled a knife on the girl, with the boy claiming on social media that he had acted to defend her. The girl later told Police that Kohli had stood inches away from her and raised his hand to “show he was going to hurt her”. She claimed the boy simply “pushed him out of the way”. However, they allegedly bragged about the assault to their friends.*

*”They had to think of a way to justify the violence which had been used” the prosecution said, adding: “It was not Mr. Kohli’s habit to carry a knife. No knife was recovered from the clothing that Mr. Kohli was wearing at the time, and no knife was recovered from Franklin Park”.*

*Both the children’s phones were seized by Police, who discovered a message from the boy which read: “I did not mean to batter him. My anger turned in”. When Police asked the girl why she recorded her friend assaulting a pensioner, she replied “I don’t know. Just to show the boy what he’d done from like, far away”.*

*The boy is on trial for murder, while the girl is accused of manslaughter for encouraging the attack. Both children, who cannot be named because of their ages, have denied the charges.*

      *The trial continues.*

    2. I prefer really not to speak. If I speak I’m in big trouble, and I don’t want to be in big trouble

    3. Man it sucks that they’ll get a slap on the wrist and then live on their life peacefully with this case sealed
