Greece, N.Y. — A man was arrested Wednesday morning after a violent domestic incident.
Police responded around 6:15 a.m. to an apartment on Grecian Gardens Drive in Greece, where a third-party caller claimed a woman was being assaulted.
Once there, officers found the suspect, who had blood on his hands, and the victim, who was inside the home with severe head trauma.
She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she was taken into surgery for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The suspect, 63-year-old Carl Rau, was taken into custody. Investigators determined he used several objects during the assault.
Rau is charged with second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault.
He remains in custody as he awaits arraignment, police said.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
