I can’t fathom making those charts in that time period. Were others doing this type of work? They look so modern to me….the relative sizes of the US maps is so cool and looks straight out of a ny times infographic. Very cool.

This is science mixed with art done so beautifully well. The graphics and colors tell an extremely complex story so simply and clearly.
