Greece, N.Y. — A new business opened its doors at Greece Ridge Mall Friday night.
InterRegion Rugs and Carpets was founded by former Afghan special immigrant visa holders who have resettled in our community.
The grand opening was seen as more than just a business launch.
But a testament to the contributions of new Americans who bring rich culture and economic growth.
“Each of us has a right to give back in any means, creating small businesses, volunteering to the people,” said Azad Yuldash, the owner of InterRegion Rugs and Carpets. “Overall, we should improve diversity and bring new cultural values to our community.”
The owner says he decided to create the business when he noticed our markets are limited when it comes to homemade rugs.
All rugs are handmade and imported from Afghanistan.
