KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Those organizing the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon are putting out the call for volunteers to support participants and spectators throughout the event.
“In Knoxville, our volunteer spirit is second to none,” said Jason Altman, Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon race director. “We’re asking our community to help us make this year’s marathon weekend even more special by stepping up and going the extra mile for participants coming from Knoxville and around the world.”
The marathon takes place over April 5 and 6. Several positions are open, like course monitors, staff at the Goody’s Health & Fitness Expo and water station staff.
“We are grateful to have a supportive and giving community,” Altman said. “Whether you know a participant or just want to get in on the excitement, we invite you to join us and help make this year’s Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon the best yet.”
Those interested can sign up here. There’s an appreciation party scheduled for 6 p.m. on April 17 at Calhoun’s on the River.
