Brent Johnston named 2025 Madison Heart Ball Chair

MADISON, Wis. (Jan. 16, 2025) — For more than 100 years, the American Heart Association has committed to advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere. Through Madison’s Heart Ball campaign, Shared Imaging Services President Brent Johnston will spearhead efforts to ensure every individual in Madison has the opportunity for a full, healthy life.

The Heart Ball celebrates hope and progress made through the dedication and passion of all who support the American Heart Association’s efforts to make an impact on the health of the community. These efforts include the relentless pursuit of scientific discovery, public policy change, equitable health for the under-resourced and underrepresented and education to equip the community to take control of their health.

“Brent demonstrates outstanding leadership and dedication. His passion and commitment to the American Heart Association’s mission, deep understanding of community needs, and unwavering drive to make a difference positions him as the perfect choice to chair this event,” said Tracy Duerr, American Heart Association executive director in Madison. “By leading our Heart Ball campaign, he will help us make a real difference by improving health, tackling important challenges and ensuring everyone has a fair chance at a healthier life.”

Johnston has worked in the medical field for more than 20 years and currently sits on the American Heart Association Madison Board of Directors.

“It’s an honor to be part of this organization, heart disease affects everyone,” Johnston said. “And if we can save lives by educating people on how to detect the many signs and symptoms of heart disease is a worthy cause.”

The 2025 Madison Heart Ball is sponsored by Zimbrick, Independent Pharmacy Cooperative, Shared Imaging Services and United Way of Dane County and will be held on April 26 at The Concourse Hotel Madison. The annual event is a night to celebrate the Association’s year-round efforts to break down barriers to health in Madison. Throughout the evening, the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health, will honor volunteers and patrons, feature stories of survivors, and entertain guests with dinner, dancing and an exciting auction.
