Having grown up with all the videos about dirty bombs and the risks of nuclear proliferation – there’s going to need to be convincing security in place before we go about spreading radioactive materials across thousands of micro reactors.
Its one thing policing a small number of very large nuclear power stations and their convoys. But how does this policing scale?

What the plutonium they’ve been clear for two decades they’re never letting be used for anything. Molten salts not appropriate for the UK, it’s far too far behind the curve to be useful and doesn’t align with the UK nuclear industry base.
People here need to be more positive.
It’s not mentioned in the article but the breakthrough is the end of a 7 year validation process done in collaboration with the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories. The Science isn’t brand new that’s correct but it takes a long time to implement. Experts have told the British government we can apply the process to the existing stockpiles of nuclear waste. Seems promising to me.
