The NFL’s new league is well underway after officially opening this week. The flurry of deals can now be made official.
Most of Frank Schwab’s top 25 available free agents, and even more throughout his positional rankings, are already off the board.
The two biggest names in the fold remain quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson.
While Rodgers remains the biggest domino, Wilson is meeting with teams in the meantime. He is headed to visit the New York Giants on Friday a day after he saw the Cleveland Browns. (The Giants also reportedly hosted veteran Joe Flacco. So, yeah, desperate times.)
But Wilson’s fate will likely depend on Rogers’ decision.

Rodgers was officially released by the New York Jets on Wednesday, and his next team appears to likely be a choice between the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Giants. He reportedly has an offer on the table from the Steelers, but Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported Thursday that the Minnesota Vikings are a “wild card” to land Rodgers, while retirement is also a possibility.
And if one of these QB-needy teams is left empty-handed, could a trade for the Falcons’ Kirk Cousins be in the cards?
In non-free agency news, the Cincinnati Bengals are reportedly getting closer to reaching a record extension with start receiver Ja’Marr Chase. He’s reportedly expected to earn more than $40 million per year, which would make him the highest paid non-QB in the league.
There are still plenty of talented players to be signed too, despite the spate of agreements already reached. Here are the best remaining NFL free agents. Rodgers is No. 2, behind tackle Mekhi Becton.
If you missed any news these past few days, don’t worry. We’ve tracked the NFL free-agent deals this spring.
And don’t forget: The NFL Draft also isn’t far off. Cam Ward is going first in our latest mock draft. The league also announced the compensatory picks for the upcoming draft.

New Bills DL Larry Ogunjobi, Michael Hoecht draw 6-game PED suspensions
The Bills won’t have their new defensive linemen Larry Ogunjobi and Michael Hoecht for six games to begin the 2025-26 season. Neither free agent deal is official yet, as a result.
Buffalo GM Brandon Beane told reporters that Ogunjobi’s test results weren’t available until after he signed a one-year, $8.3 million contract with the team. However, the team knew about Hoecht’s pending suspension before agreeing to a deal with him.
Both players can take part in training camp, but cannot be in the Bills’ facility for the first four weeks of the regular season.

Former Cowboys teammates DeMarcus Lawrence, Micah Parsons feud on X
DeMarcus Lawrence sent a shot to the Dallas Cowboys on his way to the Seattle Seahawks after signing a three-year, $42 million to move to the NFC West.
Speaking with the “Hawk Blogger” channel in Seattle on Thursday, Lawrence was asked about how it will feel to spend time in Seattle compared to Dallas, where he made his full-time home. Lawrence made an innocuous joke about the weather … then went straight for his former team’s jugular:
The main difference, as you can see, is this cold. Gotta keep my jacket on here, but definitely love the atmosphere. Change of scenery is always good, but Dallas is my home. I made my home there. My family lives there. I’m forever gonna be there. But, you know, I know for sure I’m not gonna win a Super Bowl there, so … yeah.”
Parsons responded on X, to which Lawrence replied, “Calling me a clown won’t change the fact that I told the truth. Maybe if you spent less time tweeting and more time winning, I wouldn’t have left.”
